So guess what was waiting at the front door when I came home from work one day last week? A big box marked “Circle G”….Merry Christmas to me! It was my new cowboy boots I had ordered. They had emailed me that they were on back order, and I was fine with waiting, but I never expected them to arrive before Christmas! It was a fun surprise. I am glad I didn’t have to wait until Christmas day to open them. I tore the box open and tried them on immediately.
Here’s a picture of my new cowgirl boots. These are Corral Circle G Distressed Brown Square Toe Boots with Dragonfly Design from BootCity.com:
They fit well, and I like the embroidery (little golden dragonflies inside the design make them really unique). I wore them to work the next day and got along fine. The inside calf wanted to rub my leg on just the right one, though, so I stuck a band-aid on the spot that was getting a little sore, and was just fine after that. I think wearing tall socks or tights would help with that, plus as they wear more, they’ll get more comfortable.
I am not exactly sure how to pair cowgirl boots with the rest of my wardrobe, though. I have only ever worn boots to ride in, and never had a pair of nice boots that could be worn to church or town or anything. So other than a pair of corduroy jeans that I have, I’m not sure what to pair them with.
I asked my husband for advice (thinking I should gradually get him used to the idea that I might need to go shopping for some boot-worthy outfits!) and he said they would go with a denim skirt or a dress, or with jeans. He’s totally against the idea of wearing pants tucked into boots, though. And I don’t have the body type suitable for skinny jeans, anyway. So I’m looking for ideas of how to wear my boots.
After searching the internet for “how to wear cowgirl boots” and finding very few boot-related blog posts, I am a little disappointed. I’d like to do a blog post in the future with ideas and tips for easy ways to pair your boots with an outfit, after I get a better grasp of what to wear them with.
